GETTING TO THE THEATRE

The Varscona Theatre is located at 10329 - 83 Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. Our building is across from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market and the Walterdale Theatre, right in the heart of the Edmonton’s Theatre District.

 

Transit

Our central location is accessible by bus. Edmonton Transit routes 4 and 8 travel up down Whyte Avenue (82 Ave) at regular intervals. Strathcona County Transit (from Sherwood Park) operates route 404, which also makes several stops in the neighbourhood.

Cycling

The theatre is located along a bike route on 83 Ave. There are many bike racks located throughout the neighbourhood, which are for public use.

PARKING 

Old Strathcona Theatre District Parking Lot

The Varscona Theatre has access to discounted parking at the Old Strathcona Theatre District Parking Lot at 8404 102 St NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 5T1 (it’s commonly referred to as the Strathcona Farmers Market parking lot)

Our special Varscona rate is $2.00+ GST for up to 6 hours of parking (thats the cheapest rate in the area!). The discount is available starting two hours before showtime and is valid for 6 hours. For example, for a show beginning at 7:30 PM, the parking discount is available between 5:30 and 11:30 PM. For a show starting at 2:00 PM, the discount is available between 12:00 and 6:00 PM.

HOW TO GET THE PARKING DISCOUNT

  1. Park your vehicle anywhere in the Old Strathcona Theatre District Parking Lot

  2. NEW: Click this link: https://bit.ly/Parking-Discount  OR Head to the theatre to scan the QR code at the box office in order to register your vehicle. PLEASE NOTE: the QR code and link will only be active between 5:30 PM and 11:30 PM (for evening performances) and 12:00 and 6:00 PM (for matinee performances). If you try to use the QR code or link before or after these times, the discount will not work.

  3. Click "Promo" enter in the Coupon Code: “VARSCONA2024THEATRE!” then click “Apply”

  4. Enter in your payment information and VOILA! You have $2 parking for up to 6hrs!

The coupon code will change every month. The current code will be posted at the Varscona Box Office before every performance.

EPark

The City of Edmonton has numerous EPark zones surrounding the theatre. Rates vary between $1 to $2 per hour, between 8 AM to 9 PM Monday to Saturday & 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday’s. You can at the EPark Machines using coins, Mastercard, Visa or Amex or you can tap and pay with your phone using FastTap, use the HotSpot Parking app, or pay online. Mastercard, Visa, Amex, Visa Debit or Debit Mastercard will be accepted. The picture below shows the EPark zones closest to the theatre. FREE PARKING

Free parking has been restricted to the residential streets in the Strathocona neighbourhood. If you don’t mind walking a block or two to a from the theatre, this option can be a great to save a few dollars.

ACCESSIBLE PARKING

Directly in-front of the theatre (going east on 83rd ave) there is 2 accessible parking spots and 15 minute loading zone spot (perfect for dropping off or picking up). Additionally, there is an accessible parking spot a little further down the block (still on 83rd ave going east) AND there are 2 accessible stalls in the Walterdale Theatre parking lot located across the street from the theatre. All of these accessible parking stalls are free to use.
